  •   Echeveria 'Blue Prince' is a rosette succulent in the Crassulaceae family that evolved in the semi-arid highlands of Mexico and Central America. It grows well in bright light and well-drained soils, making it suitable for beginners indoors or in containers.

The rosettes form tight, symmetrical clusters of thick, fleshy leaves coated in powdery farina that gives them their signature blue-green color with soft silvery-lavender undertones. Leaf tips are gently pointed, and the edges flush with a subtle blush. Over time, it develops a clustering habit, producing offsets that fill out a pot with multiple rosettes, each typically reaching 4 to 6 inches in diameter.

In spring or early summer, 'Blue Prince' sends up arching flower stalks bearing small coral-to-orange bell-shaped blooms. A nighttime temperature drop encourages flowering. The warm-toned flowers contrast with the cool blue-green foliage.

This succulent excels on sunny windowsills, patio containers, and in mixed succulent arrangements. It is pet friendly and non-toxic to cats and dogs. You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outside in summer to a sheltered spot where it can soak up extra sun, but protect it from heavy rain and bring it back inside before the first frost.

  •   Echeveria 'Blue Prince' grows well in bright indirect light to full sun, needing at least 4 to 6 hours of direct or bright light daily.

Water it thoroughly every 10 to 14 days in summer and every 3 to 4 weeks in winter, always letting the soil dry completely between waterings.

'Blue Prince' does best in a fast-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with extra perlite or coarse grit for optimal drainage.

It prefers temperatures between 65 and 80°F and should be protected from frost, as it is not cold-hardy below about 25 to 30°F.

'Blue Prince' is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from a diluted balanced succulent fertilizer applied once monthly during the active growing season.

It is hardy in USDA FAQs/ Common Issues Zones 9 to 11. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Nevada, as well as along the mild coastal stretches of Oregon and Washington. In colder states like New York, Illinois, Ohio, Colorado, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, it grows as a container plant that you can bring indoors before the first frost.
  • Q: How often should I water Echeveria 'Blue Prince'?
A: During the growing season, allow the soil to dry completely between waterings before applying water again. Winter watering is less frequent due to slower growth and dormancy.

    Q: Is it pet friendly?
A: Echeveria 'Blue Prince' is non-toxic to cats and dogs and safe to keep in homes with curious pets.

Q: How much light does 'Blue Prince' need?
A: Place it in a south or west-facing window where it receives direct sun for part of the day. Rotate the pot weekly to ensure even growth on all sides.

Q: How big does it get?
A: 'Blue Prince' typically forms rosettes around 4 to 6 inches in diameter. It slowly clusters over time as it produces offsets.

Q: Can 'Blue Prince' be propagated?
A: Separate the offsets it naturally produces and pot them up in well-draining succulent mix. Leaf propagation is also possible, though offsets establish faster and more reliably.

Q: Can it grow outside in summer?
A: Move 'Blue Prince' outdoors in summer to a bright, sheltered spot. It needs protection from heavy rain and should return indoors well before the first frost.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
