  •   Echeveria Blue Fairy is a rosette-forming succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the semi-arid regions of Mexico and Central America. It evolved in rocky, sun-drenched terrain with fast-draining soils and low rainfall, making it naturally drought-tolerant and well-suited to bright, dry indoor conditions.

It forms tight, symmetrical rosettes with plump, spoon-shaped leaves in pastel blue-green, often blushed with soft lavender or pink at the tips. The leaves have a powdery farina coating that intensifies the cool, silvery-blue color and gives it a frosted appearance. As a clustering grower, it gradually produces offsets around the base, creating a fuller clump over time.

In spring, 'Blue Fairy' produces arching bloom stalks with small flowers, though a cool night temperature drop in late winter increases your chances of seeing blooms. Rotating it a quarter turn every week or two keeps the rosette growing symmetrically toward the light instead of leaning to one side.

Move it outside for the summer months where extra sun and airflow bring out its best color, but shelter it from rain since the rosette traps water. You can leave it up to ten days without water. It is non-toxic to cats and dogs and handles the dry heated air of indoor winters with ease.

  •   Echeveria Blue Fairy grows well in bright indirect light to full sun, with some direct sun hours daily.

Water it every 10 to 14 days in summer, reducing to once every 3 to 4 weeks in winter.

'Blue Fairy' does best in a gritty, well-draining cactus and succulent mix amended with extra perlite.

It prefers temperatures between 65 and 80°F and should be protected from frost below 32°F.

'Blue Fairy' is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from diluted succulent fertilizer once monthly in spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA Zones 9 through 11, tolerating brief dips to around 25 to 30°F before frost damage occurs. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Nevada. It also grows well along the mild coastal stretches of Oregon and Washington and in the warmer pockets of New Mexico and Arkansas, while gardeners elsewhere can enjoy it as a container plant brought indoors each winter.
  • Q: How often should I water Echeveria Blue Fairy?
A: Let the soil dry completely between waterings to prevent root rot. In the dormant winter period, the plant needs significantly less water than during its active growing months.

    Q: Is it pet-friendly?
A: Echeveria Blue Fairy is non-toxic to cats and dogs, so it is safe for homes with curious pets.

Q: What window direction works best for 'Blue Fairy'?
A: A south- or east-facing windowsill provides several hours of direct or bright indirect sun each day. Intense midday sun through a south window can sometimes scorch the leaves.

Q: How large does it get?
A: 'Blue Fairy' typically forms rosettes around 4 to 6 inches wide at maturity, spreading wider as it produces offsets.

Q: How do I propagate 'Blue Fairy'?
A: Gently remove the offsets that form around the base and pot them separately, or use leaf propagation during the warm growing season.

Q: Can it survive outdoors in cold climates?
A: 'Blue Fairy' grows year-round outdoors in USDA Zones 9 through 11, but gardeners in colder regions should move it indoors before frost arrives.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
