Swizzle Sticks earns its name from its cylindrical, upright stems that resemble swizzle sticks, growing in tight, sculptural clusters. The stems are smooth and dusty grey-green with a waxy texture and subtle segmentation along their length. Its upright growth style creates an architectural form that stands apart from most other succulents in a collection.
It produces small, daisy-like white to pale yellow flowers when given a night temperature drop, typically in cooler months. Blooms appear when the plant is placed near a cool window in autumn and winter. Its deep root system anchors it well and supports the upright stems through the flowering period.
It prefers temperatures between 50 and 85°F and must be brought indoors before frost threatens, as it is not frost tolerant. Q: How often should I water Senecio anteuphorbium Swizzle Sticks?
A: Water every 10 to 14 days in summer and every three to four weeks in winter, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. Root rot develops when soil remains wet for extended periods.
Q: Is it safe around pets and children?
A: Senecio anteuphorbium Swizzle Sticks is toxic and should be kept out of reach of cats, dogs, and children, as the sap causes skin and paw irritation.
Q: What light setup works best for Swizzle Sticks?
A: Rotate it regularly so all sides receive even bright indirect light, and position it near a window where it gets a few hours of direct sun each day.
Q: Can I move it outdoors in the warmer months?
A: Swizzle Sticks does well being moved outside for summer in a bright, sheltered spot, but bring it back indoors before frost and shield it from heavy rain.
Q: What triggers blooms on Swizzle Sticks?
A: Place it near a cool window in autumn and winter to create a consistent nighttime temperature drop, and it should produce small daisy-like white to pale yellow flowers.
Q: How large does it get, and how rare is it?
A: Swizzle Sticks grows upright and moderately slowly, typically reaching one to two feet tall and remaining narrow, making it uncommon in cultivation and rarely available commercially.

🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
