Red Pluche forms jewel-like rosettes with red and green tones that deepen in cooler temperatures and brighter light. The leaves have a slightly plush, velvety texture that sets this cultivar apart among hens and chicks succulents. It grows in an upright, clustering habit, producing offsets freely to create a dense, spreading mat of rosettes over time.
Like all hens and chicks succulents, Red Pluche requires a notable drop in nighttime temperature to trigger blooming. Keeping it in a spot with natural temperature variation encourages flowers to develop. It handles balcony wind and rain with ease and can stay outdoors in autumn, where cooler nights naturally prompt the plant toward its blooming cycle.
Red Pluche works in container gardens, rock gardens, green roofs, and sunny windowsill displays. You can leave it up to ten days without water. It tolerates dry heated air indoors, though it prefers some distance from direct AC or heater vents. Red Pluche is pet friendly and safe for cats and dogs.
