  •   Sempervivum Prilly's is a hardy succulent from the houseleek family, native to the mountainous regions of Europe where it grows naturally in rocky, well-draining terrain. This exclusive alpine succulent features a rare fuzzy texture and tight rosette formation that distinguishes it among hardy succulents.

Prilly forms compact rosettes densely covered in fine, velvety hairs that give the leaves a soft, fuzzy appearance. The thick, fleshy leaves range from green to reddish tones depending on light exposure, and it develops tight clustering growth as the mother rosette produces numerous offsets that create spreading colonies over time. The cilia covering the foliage is the plant's most distinctive identifying feature, setting it apart from typical houseleek varieties.

It produces star-shaped flowers on tall stalks during summer months, typically in shades of pink or white, though blooms appear infrequently. Prilly handles balcony wind and rain exceptionally well and can remain outdoors through autumn without protection from mild cold snaps.

It works well in rock gardens, container displays, and drought-tolerant landscapes. You can leave it up to ten days without water. This collector succulent is completely pet-friendly, safe around both cats and dogs, and requires minimal fertilizer.

  •   Sempervivum Prilly's grows well in partial to full sun but needs rotating for even growth and protection from scorching south-facing windows.

Water it every 2-3 weeks during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings; reduce frequency in winter.

Prilly does best in well-draining cactus mix combined with perlite or coarse sand for excellent drainage and aeration.

It handles temperatures from 20-80°F and tolerates frost down to 10°F, making it suitable for outdoor cultivation in cold climates.

Prilly grows slowly and rarely needs fertilizer, thriving on neglect rather than frequent feeding or supplemental nutrients.

It is hardy in USDA zones 3-9 and grows outdoors year-round in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, and northern California.
  • Q: How often should I water Sempervivum Prilly's?
A: Every 2-3 weeks during growing season once the soil is completely dry. Drop back to monthly or less in winter when growth slows.

Q: Is it safe for households with cats and dogs?
A: Sempervivum Prilly's is completely non-toxic and poses no risk to pets; it is safe around cats and dogs.

Q: What light direction does Prilly prefer?
A: Partial to full sun works best, but south-facing windows can scorch the leaves during peak heat; rotate regularly for balanced color development.

Q: How fast does it spread?
A: Prilly grows slowly, producing offsets gradually over months; each rosette reaches maturity in 2-3 years under optimal conditions.

Q: Can Prilly survive a 10-day trip without watering?
A: It can tolerate 10 days without water in cool conditions, though moving it indoors during extended absences reduces evaporation stress.

Q: How do I propagate this succulent?
A: Separate offset rosettes from the mother plant, allow cut surfaces to dry for 24 hours, then plant in well-draining soil.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
