Beacon Hill is a perennial, evergreen succulent that forms tight, waxy rosettes. It is famous for its deep burgundy to mahogany-red coloration, which remains vibrant throughout the year. The leaves are often finished with a subtle, pale green base and sharp, clean margins that emphasize its star-like symmetry.
The heuffelii species is native to the Balkan Mountains of Southeast Europe. Unlike other Sempervivums, heuffelii varieties are unique because they do not produce "chicks" on long runners. Instead, the mother plant splits at the crown to form new rosettes, a trait that has helped them survive the harsh, rocky altitudes of their homeland.
In the heat of summer, Beacon Hill sends up thick, upright stalks. While many succulents have pink blooms, heuffelii varieties are prized for their bell-shaped, pale yellow to creamy-white flowers. This soft, buttery contrast against the dark wine-red foliage is rare and highly striking.
Thrives in full sun. To achieve that signature deep mahogany color, it needs plenty of direct light. In extremely hot desert climates, it can handle light afternoon shade.
Requires sharp drainage. Use a rocky succulent mix or a blend of potting soil with at least 50% grit (pumice, perlite, or pea gravel). It loves being tucked into rock crevices.
Drought-tolerant. Use the "soak and dry" method. It is very sensitive to standing water, especially in the winter; ensure the soil never stays soggy.
Feed lightly once or twice during the growing season with a diluted, low-nitrogen fertilizer. Overfeeding can cause leggy growth and weaken the plant.

Your plant will be carefully wrapped in a sturdy box. Most of the succulents will be shipped bare-root to ensure their safety. If you want to receive the plastic pot & soil, please leave a note in your order. When opening your package, some soil may be loose in the box. Plant orders are shipped within 3-5 days depending on the availability of the plant. We ship our plants Monday through Friday, all twelve months of the year! Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered
light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do
NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour
off any excess water after a few minutes.
The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot
area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended
periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.
