  •   Sedum Fire Storm Succulent - Sedum x adolphi is a hybrid succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the rocky, semi-arid regions of Mexico. It has compact, upright rosettes and shifts color dramatically when given plenty of bright light, and is pet friendly.

The leaves are plump and lance-shaped, glowing in golden yellow with fiery orange-red edges when given plenty of bright light. They have a waxy, smooth texture and shift toward deeper forest green tones in lower light. The narrow, upright growth habit keeps the rosettes tidy and structured.

It produces small, star-shaped white flowers on upright stalks, typically blooming in late winter to early spring. Keep in mind it does produce pollen, so it may not be the best choice for anyone with sensitivities to allergens. Rotate it regularly for even, balanced growth, and keep it away from direct air conditioning or heater vents, as blowing air stresses the foliage. Propagation is simple through leaf or stem cuttings, letting you easily share and expand your collection.

  •   Sedum Fire Storm Succulent - Sedum x adolphi grows well in bright indirect light but can scorch in intense south-facing direct sun.

Water it every 10-14 days during the growing season and every 3-4 weeks in winter.

Sedum 'Fire Storm' grows well in a fast-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with perlite for added aeration.

It prefers temperatures between 60 and 80°F and should be brought indoors before temperatures drop below 25°F.

Sedum 'Fire Storm' is a slow grower that stays compact without much pruning, needing only a balanced liquid fertilizer once in spring and once in summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating light frost down to around 25°F before needing protection. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and coastal Oregon. In zone 9 areas like parts of Oregon, Washington's milder coastal pockets, and inland regions of the South, light winter cover helps it thrive.
  • Q: Is Sedum Fire Storm Succulent - Sedum x adolphi safe for pets?
A: Yes, it is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Q: What window direction works best for this beginner succulent?
A: Sedum Fire Storm Succulent - Sedum x adolphi does best in an east or west-facing window where it receives bright indirect light most of the day. South-facing windows can cause leaf scorch during peak afternoon sun.

A: It grows slowly, staying compact and tidy without needing frequent pruning or repotting.

Q: What causes yellow leaves on this plant?

Q: Can Sedum 'Fire Storm' go outside in summer?
A: Move it to a bright outdoor spot to deepen its color, but protect it from heavy rain and bring it back in before temperatures drop.

Q: How do I propagate this collector plant?

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
