    •   Sempervivum 'Reinhardt' is a hardy hens and chicks succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the mountainous regions of Europe and western Asia. The genus evolved in rocky, poor soils at high elevations, which explains why Reinhardt grows well with virtually no maintenance today.

        Reinhardt forms tight, symmetrical rosettes with apple green leaves tipped in dark color, deepening further with increased sun exposure. The fleshy, pointed leaves have smooth surfaces arranged in satisfying geometric patterns. It spreads by producing small offset "chicks" that cluster around the parent rosette, creating a dense, textural mat over time.

        Like other Sempervivum species, individual rosettes are monocarpic in bloom, putting all their energy into a tall flower stalk before completing their life cycle while surrounding offsets continue growing. A nighttime temperature drop in spring can trigger blooming.

        You can leave Reinhardt up to ten days without water. It tolerates balcony wind, rain, and temperature swings, dry heated indoor air, and drafty windowsills.
