The foliage consists of rounded, scallop-edged leaves arranged in whorls of three along arching stems. The leaves are blue-green with silvery overtones and develop pinkish-red margins that deepen when temperatures drop. Its trailing and clumping growth habit makes it suitable for hanging baskets, window boxes, and container displays.
Sedum Sieboldii blooms in autumn, producing clusters of small, star-shaped pink flowers as temperatures begin to fall. It requires that nighttime temperature dip to set buds, so leaving it outdoors through early fall triggers annual bloom. The flowers appear right when many other plants are fading, extending the season of interest.
Position it in a hanging location or on a raised shelf where the stems can trail, or keep it on a sunny windowsill indoors. Move it outside in summer and bring it back inside before frost if you're in a colder climate.
