    •   Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi 'Aurora Borealis' is a variegated trailing succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the highlands of Madagascar. It has become widely cultivated for its multicolored foliage.

        Aurora Borealis is recognizable by its scalloped leaf edges, which display creamy white, soft pink, and lavender blush tones against a blue-green base. The leaves form loosely clustering rosettes along trailing stems, creating a full, layered growth habit with both upright and cascading branches that spreads across its container. It works well in hanging baskets and high shelves where its stems can trail freely.

        In late winter to spring, it produces tubular coral-pink to reddish-orange blooms that emerge in pendulous clusters at stem tips. The flowers appear when nighttime temperatures drop into the low 50s°F. The plant produces pollen and may trigger allergies for those with sensitivities indoors.

        Move Aurora Borealis outdoors to a sheltered spot in summer for a growth boost, but bring it under cover during rain and return it indoors before temperatures drop below 50°F.
