Sedum 'Cape Blanco' forms tight rosettes of spoon-shaped leaves with a powdery, silver-white to blue-green coating that gives the plant its frosted appearance. The leaves are thick and fleshy, packed with moisture-storing tissue that enables the plant to handle extended dry periods. Rosettes spread outward in a low, wide mat that hugs the ground, suitable for containers, rock gardens, and border edging.
In late spring to early summer, it produces clusters of small, bright yellow star-shaped flowers on short upright stems. The blooms attract pollinators without producing heavy pollen, and the plant maintains its year-round rosette form even when not in flower.
You can leave it up to ten days without water. It handles frost down to -20°F, making it suitable for gardens across a wide range of climates.
