  •   Aloe 'Oik' is a rare dwarf hybrid aloe in the Asphodelaceae family, bred for its compact rosette form and unusual leaf coloration. It stays small enough for a windowsill but holds its own as a collector succulent among aloe enthusiasts.

The leaves are short, thick, and arranged in a tight rosette, carrying teal-blue to gray-green tones with pink-toothed margins along the edges. The surface has a slightly waxy feel, and the teeth run consistently from base to tip. At maturity, the whole plant stays compact, rarely spreading beyond a few inches across.

Flower information for this specific hybrid is not widely documented, so bloom details are not confirmed here. What stands out instead is how Aloe 'Oik' holds its coloration year-round, and the teal-blue leaves with pink teeth are consistent across seasons without any special treatment.

Rotate Aloe 'Oik' every few weeks so all sides receive even light exposure. You can move it outside for summer, but cover it from rain and bring it back in before temperatures drop hard. It survives up to ten days without water, and the soil should dry out fully between waterings. Keep Aloe 'Oik' on a high shelf away from cats, dogs, and small children, as the sap can irritate skin and paws, and the plant should not be chewed or eaten by pets or toddlers.

  •   Aloe 'Oik' grows best in bright indirect light, away from direct south-facing windows that can scorch the leaves.

Water it every ten to fourteen days, letting the soil dry out completely between waterings.

Aloe 'Oik' does best in a well-draining cactus or succulent mix, ideally with added perlite for drainage.

It prefers temperatures between 60°F and 80°F and stays away from air conditioning or heater vents.

Aloe 'Oik' is a slow-growing dwarf hybrid; feed it with a diluted succulent fertilizer once in spring and once in summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 to 11, tolerating temperatures down to around 25°F to 30°F with brief exposure only. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, and coastal areas of Georgia and South Carolina. It performs well as an outdoor container plant in Oregon and Washington during warmer months.
  • Q: How big does Aloe 'Oik' get at full size?
A: It stays compact, typically reaching two to four inches across at maturity, making it well-suited to a windowsill or small shelf.

Q: Is this aloe safe around cats and dogs?
A: Aloe 'Oik' should be kept well out of reach of pets. The sap can irritate skin and paws, and cats and dogs shouldn't be left to nibble or eat it.

Q: Which window direction works best for Aloe 'Oik'?
A: An east or west-facing window works well. South-facing windows in direct afternoon sun can scorch the leaf tips, so filtered or bright indirect light is the safer option.

Q: What happens if I overwater this aloe?
A: Aloe 'Oik' is prone to root rot if the soil stays wet for too long. The leaves may turn soft or translucent at the base before the roots are visibly affected, so dry soil between waterings is essential.

Q: Can Aloe 'Oik' stay outside in autumn?
A: It can stay outdoors into early autumn as long as nighttime temperatures stay above 30°F. Bring it in before the first frost and cover it from prolonged rain while outside.

Q: How do I propagate this plant?
A: Aloe 'Oik' produces offsets, or pups, at the base that can be gently separated once they have a few roots of their own and potted individually into dry succulent mix.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
