  •   Aeonium lancerottense is a rare endemic succulent native to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, where it grows on rocky volcanic slopes under bright Atlantic light. This rosette-forming member of the Crassulaceae family brings a genuine piece of island flora into your home or garden. It is endemic to Lanzarote and prized by collectors for its rarity.

The plant forms upright rosettes with lance-shaped leaves edged in red or purple margins. A single plant gradually clusters into multiple stems, creating a multi-stemmed architectural display over time. The leaves are smooth and slightly waxy, arranged in tight, symmetrical whorls that catch light from every angle.

Aeonium Lancerottense needs a nighttime temperature drop to trigger blooming, mimicking its cool Canary Island winters. It produces pollen during the bloom period and may release allergens, so monitor if you have sensitivities. The plant is pet-safe, with no toxicity to cats or dogs.

Move it outside for summer and it can stay outside through autumn in mild climates, though it needs cover from heavy rain to prevent root rot. Once settled in a bright, stable spot, avoid frequent moving. Rotate the pot occasionally to encourage even, symmetrical rosette growth.

  •   Aeonium lancerottense grows well in bright indirect light but tolerates some direct sun, especially morning sun, while avoiding harsh midday exposure.

Water it every 10-14 days during spring and autumn growth, reducing to once a month during summer dormancy.

Aeonium Lancerottense does best in a well-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with extra perlite or grit to prevent waterlogging.

It prefers temperatures between 50-75°F and must be protected from frost below 25°F.

Aeonium Lancerottense is a moderate grower that benefits from diluted balanced fertilizer once in early spring and once in autumn.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F but performing best without hard frost. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. The mildest microclimates of coastal Oregon and Washington in Zone 9 can also support it.
  • Q: How often should I water Aeonium lancerottense?
A: Every 10-14 days during spring and autumn, then cut back to roughly once a month in summer when growth slows. Leaf wilting indicates thirst.

Q: Is it safe for cats and dogs?
A: Aeonium lancerottense is non-toxic and completely safe for pets.

Q: Can Aeonium Lancerottense be grown outdoors?
A: Yes. Move it outside for summer and it can stay outside through autumn in mild climates, but provide rain cover and bring it inside before hard freezes.

Q: How do I encourage symmetrical rosette growth?
A: Aeonium Lancerottense develops even form when rotated occasionally and kept in one stable, bright location without frequent moving.

Q: How rare is Aeonium Lancerottense?
A: It is endemic only to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands and does not appear commonly in general garden centers.

Q: Can I propagate this plant?
A: Stem or rosette cuttings taken in spring or autumn root easily in Aeonium Lancerottense. Allow cut ends to callous for a day or two before placing in dry succulent soil, then water sparingly until roots establish.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
