  •   Graptopetalum Superbum is a succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the rocky hillsides of Mexico. It evolved in well-draining terrain with bright light and minimal rainfall, adapting naturally to home growing conditions.

This rosette succulent forms tight, symmetrical clusters with thick, powdery leaves in soft shades of lavender, gray, and purple that deepen with more sun exposure. Each rosette typically grows 4 to 6 inches across and stays compact enough for small containers, gradually multiplying into a full display of interconnected rosettes over time.

It produces star-shaped flowers in spring, typically after experiencing a cool nighttime temperature drop that triggers blooming. Healthy, well-established plants flower season after season with consistent care.

You can leave it up to ten days without water, and it handles the dry heated air of most indoor environments. Move it outdoors in summer to encourage clustering growth, but keep it sheltered from heavy rain to protect the roots. It is non-toxic to cats and dogs and releases oxygen at night, making it a natural fit for bedrooms and living spaces. Pair it with other rosette succulents in dish gardens or windowsill arrangements.

  •   Graptopetalum Superbum grows well in bright indirect light to partial or full sun, with occasional rotation for balanced rosette development.

Water it deeply every 10 to 14 days during the growing season, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings, then reduce to once monthly in winter.

Graptopetalum Superbum does best in fast-draining cactus and perlite mix, combining 50% potting soil with 50% coarse perlite or pumice.

It prefers temperatures between 65 and 80°F and needs protection from frost below 25°F.

Graptopetalum Superbum is a slow to moderate grower needing only light balanced fertilizer once in spring.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 through 11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and coastal Oregon. Warmer pockets of New Mexico, Arkansas, and North Carolina may also succeed with brief frost cover during milder winters.
  • Q: How often should I water Graptopetalum Superbum?
A: During the growing season, allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. Winter watering drops to once monthly when growth slows.

Q: Is it safe for cats and dogs?
A: Graptopetalum Superbum is non-toxic and completely pet-friendly for households with curious animals.

Q: What light conditions does Graptopetalum Superbum need for best color?
A: South or east-facing windows work best for full color development. Rotate it every week or two to prevent leaning toward the light.

Q: How large do the rosettes get?
A: Graptopetalum Superbum typically forms rosettes 4 to 6 inches across and slowly clusters outward over time, staying compact and tidy in 4-inch pots.

Q: How do I propagate Graptopetalum Superbum?
A: It propagates easily from leaf cuttings, stem cuttings, or offsets. Allow cut ends to callus for a day or two before placing in dry, well-draining soil.

    Q: Why isn't it flowering?
A: Graptopetalum Superbum needs a noticeable drop in nighttime temperatures to trigger blooming. Move it to a cooler spot around 50 to 55°F at night in late winter to encourage spring flowers.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
