  •   Echeveria 'Princess' is a compact rosette-forming succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the semi-arid regions of Mexico. It belongs to a genus celebrated for its tightly layered, symmetrical rosettes and pastel-toned foliage.

The leaves are plump, spoon-shaped, and pale mint green, with soft pink tips that deepen in intensity under direct sun. Each rosette grows densely packed, with smooth, slightly waxy leaf surfaces and a powdery farina coating. Mature rosettes typically stay compact, fitting comfortably in a small pot or dish arrangement.

Echeveria rosettes require a drop in nighttime temperatures to trigger blooming, so keeping 'Princess' near a cooler window in autumn can encourage flower stalks to develop. The blooms rise on slender arching stems above the rosette. Rotate the pot regularly to keep growth even on all sides, since stems will lean toward the light source over time.

Move it outside for summer in a sheltered spot, but cover it from rain since the farina and tightly packed rosette trap moisture and can lead to rot. 'Princess' is a slow grower and stays compact enough for a desk, windowsill, or small dish garden. It tolerates the dry heated air common in most homes. You can leave it up to ten days without water, and it wilts slightly when dry. This plant is pet friendly.

  •   Echeveria 'Princess' does best in bright indirect light to partial direct sun, such as a south or east-facing window.

Water it every 10-14 days in spring and summer, letting the soil dry out completely between waterings, and reduce to once a month in winter.

'Princess' grows best in a fast-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with perlite at a ratio of roughly 2:1.

It prefers temperatures between 60°F and 80°F and should be brought indoors before nights drop below 40°F.

'Princess' is a slow grower that stays compact, needing a diluted balanced fertilizer once in spring and once in midsummer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9b-11b, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F-30°F. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, and Nevada. It can also remain outside through autumn in parts of Georgia, South Carolina, and Louisiana before nighttime temperatures call it back indoors.
  • Q: Is Echeveria 'Princess' safe for cats and dogs?
A: Yes. It is non-toxic and listed as pet safe for both cats and dogs.

Q: How do I know when it needs water?
A: Echeveria 'Princess' wilts slightly and the leaves may feel slightly less firm when the soil has been dry too long. Check the top inch of soil before watering.

Q: Can 'Princess' survive in an office with only artificial light?
A: It can manage under bright LED grow lights positioned close overhead, but standard office fluorescent lighting is usually too dim and the rosette will stretch and lose its compact form.

Q: How do I propagate this succulent?
A: 'Princess' propagates readily from leaf cuttings. Gently twist a healthy leaf free from the base, let it callous for a day or two, then lay it on dry succulent soil and mist lightly every few days until a small rosette sprouts.

Q: Why are the leaves on 'Princess' turning yellow?
A: Yellow leaves are most often a sign of overwatering. When the roots sit in wet soil too long, the lower leaves yellow and soften at the base.

Q: How big does this succulent get at maturity?
A: 'Princess' typically reaches about 3-5 inches across at full maturity, staying compact enough for a 4-inch pot for several years.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
