  •   Echeveria 'Marrom' is a compact rosette-forming succulent in the Crassulaceae family, originating from the semi-arid highlands of Mexico. It is a cultivated hybrid selected for its unusually deep brown and chocolate-toned foliage, and it sits among the rarer echeveria cultivars available to collectors.

The rosette grows in a tight, symmetrical form with thick, fleshy leaves that taper to a soft point. Leaf color ranges from warm chocolate brown to deep burgundy-red, with a dusty matte finish from the natural farina coating the surface. The compact rosette typically stays small, fitting comfortably in a 2-inch to 4-inch container.

'Marrom' can produce slender stalks with small bell-shaped flowers when it receives a drop in nighttime temperature during autumn and winter. Moving it outdoors in autumn can help trigger this temperature shift. Flower color on echeveria cultivars in this range tends toward coral or pale orange, though bloom frequency depends heavily on care conditions.

Move it outside once temperatures settle in late spring and summer, but keep it covered from rain to prevent waterlogged soil and rot. Rotate the pot every couple of weeks so all sides of the rosette receive even light exposure. You can leave it up to ten days without water, and it handles the dry, heated air of indoor environments without issue. This plant is pet friendly.

  •   Echeveria 'Marrom' grows well in bright indirect light and can handle some direct morning sun indoors.

Water it every 10-14 days in spring and summer, and reduce to once a month in winter.

'Marrom' does best in a fast-draining cactus and perlite mix with a ratio of roughly 50/50.

It prefers temperatures between 60-80°F and should be kept away from air conditioning vents and heating units.

'Marrom' is a slow-growing cultivar; feed it once a month in spring and summer with a diluted balanced fertilizer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9b-11b, tolerating lows down to around 25°F for brief periods only. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, and parts of the Gulf Coast states. It performs best in containers elsewhere so it can be brought indoors before frost arrives.
  • Q: How much light does Echeveria 'Marrom' need?
A: A bright east- or west-facing windowsill works well. South-facing windows can scorch the leaves in intense afternoon sun, so keep it a foot or two back from the glass or use a sheer curtain.

Q: Is this succulent safe for cats and dogs?
A: Yes. Echeveria 'Marrom' is non-toxic and pet friendly for both cats and dogs.

Q: How do I know when 'Marrom' needs water?
A: The leaves will wilt slightly and feel less firm when the plant is dry. Check the soil first — if it is completely dry an inch down, it is time to water.

Q: Can this succulent stay outside in autumn?
A: Yes, 'Marrom' can stay outside through early autumn as long as temperatures stay above 25°F and it has cover from rain.

Q: Does 'Marrom' need to be rotated?
A: Yes, rotate it every two weeks so each side of the rosette gets even light and the growth stays symmetrical rather than leaning toward the light source.

Q: How big does this succulent get?
A: 'Marrom' stays compact, typically reaching 3-4 inches in diameter at maturity, which suits small pots, windowsills, and container arrangements.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
