  •   Echeveria 'Curve' is a rare hybrid succulent in the family Crassulaceae, developed through selective cultivation and prized among collectors for its unusual reflexed leaf structure. It forms a compact rosette and originates from the broader Echeveria lineage, which is native to the semi-arid regions of Mexico and Central America.

The leaves of 'Curve' are the first thing you notice: they curve and reflex outward and upward in a way that sets it apart from standard flat-leafed rosette types. Each leaf is thick and fleshy, coated in a fine powdery farina, and carries a blue-green to ocean blue base color that can deepen at the tips with enough sun exposure. The rosette stays compact, typically reaching 3 to 5 inches across, with leaves that overlap in a tight, layered formation.

'Curve' can push up a slender arching stem in late spring to summer, tipped with small bell-shaped flowers in coral to orange tones typical of the Echeveria genus. It needs a drop in nighttime temperatures to trigger blooming, so keeping it near a cooler window in autumn and winter helps set the stage for flowers. The blooms are not fragrant but attract pollinators when the plant is kept outdoors during warmer months.

Move it outside once temperatures are consistently above 50°F in summer, and bring it back in before the first frost. It needs cover from rain when outdoors, since standing water in the rosette can cause rot. Rotate the pot every week or two so all sides receive even light and the rosette stays symmetrical. This plant is pet friendly, and you can leave it up to ten days without water, which is useful if you travel. Keep it away from air conditioning vents and heating units, both of which dry out the air in ways that can stress the leaves over time.

  •   Echeveria 'Curve' does best in bright indirect light to partial direct sun, around 4 to 6 hours daily.

Water it every 10 to 14 days in the growing season, letting the soil dry out completely between waterings.

'Curve' grows best in a fast-draining cactus and perlite mix, with at least 50 percent inorganic material.

It prefers temperatures between 60°F and 80°F and should not be exposed to frost or temperatures below 28°F.

'Curve' is a slow to moderate grower; feed it once a month in spring and summer with a diluted balanced fertilizer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 to 11, tolerating brief dips to around 28°F but not sustained frost. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, and parts of Louisiana and Georgia. It can stay outdoors through autumn in zone 9 before nighttime temperatures push it back inside.
  • Q: How much sun does Echeveria 'Curve' need indoors?
A: An east- or west-facing window works well. South-facing windows can scorch the leaves unless you pull the pot back a foot or two from the glass.

Q: How do I know when it needs water?
A: Echeveria 'Curve' will show slightly soft or lightly wrinkled leaves when the soil has been dry long enough that it needs a drink.

Q: Is 'Curve' safe for cats and dogs?
A: Yes, it is non-toxic and safe for both cats and dogs.

Q: How do I propagate this succulent?
A: 'Curve' propagates well from individual leaves or offsets. Lay a healthy leaf on dry gritty soil and wait for a rosette to form at the base, which usually takes several weeks.

Q: Can 'Curve' survive while I travel?
A: You can leave it unwatered for up to ten days without any issue, as long as the soil was dry before you left.

Q: How big does this succulent get?
A: 'Curve' stays compact, typically reaching 3 to 5 inches in diameter, and grows slowly enough that it rarely outgrows a small pot within the first couple of years.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
