  •   Echeveria Blue Wren is a rosette-forming succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the semi-arid regions of Mexico and Central America. Like its wild relatives, it evolved to grow in rocky, well-drained soils with minimal rainfall, making it naturally tough. 'Blue Wren' works well on a sunny windowsill or in an outdoor garden.

'Blue Wren' produces symmetrical rosettes dressed in soft blue-green leaves with a powdery farina coating that gives them a cool, dusty glow. The plump, spoon-shaped leaves are neatly layered and radiate outward in a classic hens and chicks form. Over time, it offsets freely into a clustering mound, perfect for compact rosette arrangements in pots or rocky beds.

'Blue Wren' produces slender arching stems tipped with small bell-shaped flowers in warm coral or pink tones during spring and early summer. To encourage blooming, a natural drop in nighttime temperatures helps signal the plant to set flower buds.

Rotate the pot every couple of weeks for even, balanced growth, and keep it away from direct AC or heater vents that blast dry, forced air. This dog friendly and cat friendly succulent is non-toxic and safe around curious pets. Move it outside in summer, as long as it gets cover from rain to protect its roots from excess moisture. You can leave it up to ten days without water. 'Blue Wren' is easy to propagate from offsets, which can be gently separated from the mother plant and potted into fresh gritty soil. Leaf cuttings also work well; simply lay them on dry soil and wait for tiny rosettes to appear.

  •   Echeveria Blue Wren grows well in bright indirect light to full sun, ideally near an east or west-facing window.

Water it deeply every 10 to 14 days in summer and reduce to once monthly in winter.

'Blue Wren' does best in a gritty, fast-draining mix such as cactus soil blended with perlite at a 1:1 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 65 and 80°F and should be brought indoors before frost.

'Blue Wren' grows at a moderate pace and benefits from a diluted balanced fertilizer applied once in spring and once in early summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 through 11, tolerating brief dips to around 25 to 28°F before frost damage sets in. It grows outdoors year-round across California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. Milder coastal pockets of Oregon and Washington, as well as parts of New Mexico and the Gulf Coast, can also support it through most of the year with minimal protection.
  • Q: How often should I water Echeveria Blue Wren?
A: Every 10 to 14 days during the growing season, letting the soil dry out completely between waterings. In winter, reduce to once a month to prevent root rot.

Q: Is it safe around pets?
A: Echeveria Blue Wren is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Q: What light does 'Blue Wren' need to avoid leaf scorch?
A: In very intense south-facing windows, the leaves can scorch during peak summer heat. A light sheer curtain helps filter extreme afternoon sun.

Q: How big does it grow?
A: 'Blue Wren' typically forms rosettes around 3 to 5 inches wide and clusters outward over time as it produces offsets, staying compact and tidy.

Q: Can 'Blue Wren' survive while you're away on vacation?
A: Water it well before you leave and place it in a bright spot.

    Q: Is propagation easy?
A: 'Blue Wren' can be propagated from offsets that are gently separated and potted into fresh gritty soil, or from leaf cuttings laid on dry soil to develop into tiny rosettes.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
