  •   Variegated Spathiphyllum 'Domino', also called Domino Peace Lily, is a tropical perennial from the Araceae family, native to the rainforest floors of Central and South America. It is a variegated cultivar of the classic peace lily, selected for its cream-and-green patterned foliage.

The leaves of 'Domino' are lance-shaped and glossy, splashed and streaked with irregular patches of cream and white against a forest green base. Each leaf carries a different pattern, so no two are identical. It grows in an upright, clumping habit and can reach 18 to 24 inches tall at maturity, with leaves that fan outward from a central crown.

'Domino' produces white spathe blooms on slender stems that rise above the foliage, typically in spring and occasionally again in autumn. The spathes are the same hooded, single-petal form as the standard peace lily, and the plant can flower more than once a year in good conditions. It also functions as an air purifying plant, filtering formaldehyde and other indoor toxins from the surrounding environment.

Place 'Domino' in a basket planter, on the floor, or in a large terrarium to let the foliage spread at its own pace. It thrives near a kitchen where ambient moisture from cooking keeps the humidity high. Rotating it every few weeks encourages even growth across all sides. This variegated peace lily is available as a starter plant or a mature specimen, and its white variegation and rarity make it a collector find alongside everyday tropical indoor plant collections.

  •   Variegated Spathiphyllum 'Domino' grows well under office fluorescent or LED lighting and handles medium to bright indirect light. Leaves scorch and bleach in a south-facing window with direct afternoon sun.

It needs watering when the soil feels dry in the top inch, roughly every one to two weeks. It wilts slightly when dry, and the leaves recover once watered.

'Domino' does best in a well-draining, peat-based or coco coir potting mix with added perlite. Good drainage prevents root rot, which is the most common result of consistently soggy soil.

It prefers temperatures between 65°F and 80°F and suffers when exposed to cold drafts from air conditioning vents or dry heat from radiators or heaters nearby.

'Domino' is a moderate grower that benefits from a balanced liquid fertilizer applied monthly during spring and summer. Feeding slows or stops in autumn and winter when growth naturally reduces.

It is hardy in USDA zones 11 to 12, where frost is not a factor and temperatures stay above 50°F year-round. It grows outdoors in Hawaii and the southernmost parts of Florida. Outside those zones, it performs as a container plant brought indoors before temperatures drop.
  • Q: Is Variegated Spathiphyllum 'Domino' safe around cats and dogs?
A: Cats and dogs should not be left to nibble or eat it, and the sap can cause skin and paw irritation on contact. Keep it on a high shelf or in a spot completely out of reach of pets and small children.

Q: How do I know when it needs water?
A: Variegated Spathiphyllum 'Domino' wilts slightly and the leaves droop when the soil has dried out. Check the top inch of soil before watering rather than going by a fixed schedule.

Q: Can 'Domino' grow in a terrarium?
A: Yes, a large open terrarium works well because it holds moisture around the leaves and keeps humidity consistently high. Avoid closed terrariums that trap too much water at the roots.

Q: Why are the leaves on my plant turning yellow?
A: 'Domino' most often shows yellow leaves from overwatering, low humidity, or exposure to cold air from an AC unit or heater vent. Check the soil moisture and move it away from any direct airflow.

Q: Does Domino Peace Lily need to be rotated?
A: Rotating it every two to three weeks helps all sides of the plant receive even light and prevents one-sided growth.

Q: How do I propagate this plant?
A: Domino Peace Lily is propagated by division at the roots. Remove the plant from its pot, gently separate a clump that has its own roots and leaves attached, and pot it up in fresh mix.

    🌿 For Houseplants
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging as soon as possible and review the care instructions included with your order. Water based on your plant’s needs, making sure not to overwater.
Houseplants may need a short adjustment period after arrival. Give your plant time to acclimate to its new space before placing it with other plants. You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
