  •   Titanopsis Calcarea, also called Concrete Leaf, is a rare succulent native to the rocky limestone outcroppings of South Africa's Karoo desert. This member of the Aizoaceae family evolved to blend seamlessly into its stony surroundings, and its drought tolerance makes it a discovery for collectors and beginners alike.

It forms tight, low rosettes that cluster and clump over time into a living carpet of chunky, tongue-shaped leaves. Each leaf is coated in a rough, warty texture that mimics the surface of limestone, with blue-green to grey foliage marked by cream or reddish tubercles. Individual rosettes typically reach about 2-3 inches wide as the plant slowly spreads outward.

Titanopsis Calcarea produces bright golden-yellow to orange daisy-like flowers that typically emerge in autumn and winter, often triggered by cooler night temperatures. The blooms open in the afternoon sun and can repeat seasonally when the plant experiences that temperature drop. The plant is completely pet friendly and non-toxic to cats and dogs.

You can leave it up to ten days without water. It handles dry heated indoor air and can move outside for summer as long as it has shelter from rain. The plant stays compact and works well in small pots, windowsills, and dish garden arrangements.

  •   Concrete Leaf Titanopsis Calcarea Cactus grows well in bright indirect light to full direct sun, though south-facing windows may scorch leaves in peak summer.

Water it every 2-3 weeks in summer and once a month or less in winter, letting soil dry completely between waterings.

Titanopsis Calcarea does best in a gritty, fast-draining mix of cactus soil blended with coarse perlite or pumice at a 50/50 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 50-85°F and can tolerate brief dips near 25°F when kept dry.

Titanopsis Calcarea is a slow-growing clumping rosette that needs only a light balanced fertilizer once in early spring.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating brief frost down to around 25°F when soil is kept dry. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. Parts of Oregon, coastal North Carolina, and select microclimates in New Mexico and Arkansas within zone 9 can also support it through mild winters.
  • Q: How often should I water Concrete Leaf Titanopsis Calcarea Cactus?
A: Every 2-3 weeks in the growing season and once a month or less in winter. Wrinkled leaves indicate the soil has dried out completely.

Q: Is this succulent pet friendly?
A: Concrete Leaf Titanopsis Calcarea Cactus is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Q: How much light does Titanopsis Calcarea need?
A: It grows well in several hours of direct sun daily. South-facing windows can cause leaf scorch in midsummer, so afternoon shade may help in intense heat.

Q: Can I take it outside in summer?
A: Titanopsis Calcarea thrives in a sunny outdoor spot during summer. Keep it sheltered from rain, since excess moisture causes root rot.

Q: How large does Concrete Leaf get?
A: Individual rosettes stay compact at 2-3 inches wide. It clusters slowly over time but remains suited to small containers and dish gardens.

Q: Is this plant rare and hard to find?
A: Concrete Leaf is uncommon and typically available only through specialty growers. It tends to sell out quickly when stock becomes available.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
