The short name "Philodendron Violin" comes from its violin-shaped leaves that emerge in warm shades of gold, chartreuse, and soft yellow-green. The foliage is glossy and gently lobed at the base, with mature leaves growing impressively large on this climbing philodendron. Each leaf deepens in tone as it matures, creating a layered, luminous display that shifts across the canopy.
It is grown primarily for its spectacular golden foliage rather than its flowers, as blooms rarely appear on indoor specimens. The leaves actively purify indoor air by filtering formaldehyde and other common household toxins.
It prefers temperatures between 65–85°F and cannot tolerate frost or temperatures below 30°F.
Q: How often should I water Philodendron Aurea 'Golden Violin'?
A: The plant wilts slightly when thirsty, making the signal easy to read. Check soil moisture before watering to avoid overwatering during cooler months.
Q: Is this plant safe around pets and children?
A: Philodendron Aurea 'Golden Violin' is toxic if nibbled or eaten, and the sap causes skin and paw irritation on contact. Keep it on a high shelf, well away from cats, dogs, and small children.
Q: What window placement works best for Philodendron Violin?
A: An east or west-facing spot provides bright indirect light without scorch. Keep it several feet from south-facing windows or filtered by a sheer curtain.
Q: How fast does it grow indoors?
A: Philodendron Violin grows at a moderate to fast pace during warm months with regular watering and monthly feeding. Growth slows noticeably in winter and low-light conditions.
Q: Can Philodendron Violin go outside during warm months?
A: Yes, it appreciates a summer outdoors in a sheltered, humid location with filtered light. Always protect it from heavy rain and bring it back indoors before temperatures drop.
Q: How do I propagate it?
A: Philodendron Violin propagates readily from stem cuttings with at least one node, placed in water or moist sphagnum moss. Rooting occurs faster in warm conditions with high humidity.

🌿 For Houseplants
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging as soon as possible and review the care instructions included with your order. Water based on your plant’s needs, making sure not to overwater.
Houseplants may need a short adjustment period after arrival. Give your plant time to acclimate to its new space before placing it with other plants. You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
*** We pack carefully to protect each plant during transit, so larger orders may arrive in multiple packages.
