It is immediately recognizable by its narrow, elongated leaves that emerge green and develop dark red to burgundy margins when given bright indirect light. The foliage is thick and waxy with a slightly succulent feel, and the vines trail freely as the plant grows.
Hoya Wayetti produces clusters of small, star-shaped flowers in deep red to maroon tones, often with a contrasting center. Blooms tend to appear when the plant experiences a slight drop in nighttime temperatures, particularly in autumn. The flowers carry a light, sweet fragrance.
It works well in hanging baskets and on high shelves where the vines can trail downward. It grows well near natural moisture sources like a kitchen sink and can spend summer months outdoors in a sheltered spot. Please remove your plants from their packaging as soon as possible and review the care instructions included with your order. Water based on your plant’s needs, making sure not to overwater.
Houseplants may need a short adjustment period after arrival. Give your plant time to acclimate to its new space before placing it with other plants. You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
