  •   Pothos 'Lemon Meringue' is a rare variegated pothos from the Epipremnum genus, native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. It brings golden-yellow and green foliage indoors while filtering formaldehyde and other airborne toxins from your home.

Heart-shaped, glossy leaves splash with bright creamy yellow variegation that sits between warm butter and fresh lemon. The plant grows upright when young and trails as it matures, equally at home on a shelf or cascading from a hanging hook. It adapts to both low light and bright conditions.

Pothos 'Lemon Meringue' rarely flowers indoors in home conditions. The foliage deepens and intensifies with more light exposure. You can leave it up to ten days without water.

Propagation is straightforward: snip a stem just below a node and place it in water or moist soil, and roots appear within a few weeks. Keep it well out of reach of pets and children, since the sap can cause skin and paw irritation. Move it outside in summer to a sheltered spot protected from heavy rain and harsh direct sun, then bring it inside before temperatures drop.

  •   Pothos 'Lemon Meringue' grows well in bright indirect light but adapts well to lower light and standard office LEDs.

Water it every 7 to 10 days, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out fully between waterings.

Pothos 'Lemon Meringue' prefers well-draining potting mix with added perlite to prevent waterlogging around the roots.

It prefers temperatures between 65 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit and should stay away from cold drafts, AC vents, and direct heater air.

Pothos 'Lemon Meringue' grows at a moderate pace and benefits from balanced liquid fertilizer applied monthly during spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 10 to 12, where temperatures stay above 30 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit. It grows outdoors year-round in Florida, Hawaii, southern California, southern Texas, southern Arizona, Louisiana, and coastal areas of Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and southern Nevada. In central California, northern Texas, and the coastal Pacific Northwest, it can sometimes survive outdoors in mild microclimates, though most gardeners across Oregon, Washington, North Carolina, and the broader southern United States should treat it as a container plant brought indoors before winter.
  • Q: How often should I water Pothos 'Lemon Meringue'?
A: Every 7 to 10 days; the soil should dry out fully between waterings to prevent root rot.

Q: Is this plant safe for pets and children?
A: Pothos 'Lemon Meringue' can cause skin and paw irritation on contact and should not be eaten. Keep it well out of reach on a high shelf.

Q: What light conditions does Pothos 'Lemon Meringue' prefer?
A: Bright indirect light keeps the yellow variegation most vivid, but it adapts to lower light and grows fine under standard office LEDs.

Q: How do I propagate it?
A: Pothos 'Lemon Meringue' roots readily when you cut a healthy stem just below a node and place it in water or moist potting mix for two to four weeks.

Q: Why are the leaves on Pothos 'Lemon Meringue' turning yellow?
A: Overwatering, insufficient light, or stagnant cold air from an AC or heater vent causes yellowing; adjust your watering schedule, move it to a brighter spot, and rotate the pot for even growth.

Q: Can this houseplant go outside in summer?
A: Pothos 'Lemon Meringue' thrives in a warm sheltered outdoor spot during the growing season with extra natural light intensifying the variegation, but bring it back inside well before autumn chill arrives.

    🌿 For Houseplants
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging as soon as possible and review the care instructions included with your order. Water based on your plant’s needs, making sure not to overwater.
Houseplants may need a short adjustment period after arrival. Give your plant time to acclimate to its new space before placing it with other plants. You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
*** We pack carefully to protect each plant during transit, so larger orders may arrive in multiple packages.
