  •   Echeveria Tolucensis is a rosette succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the highlands around Toluca, Mexico. It belongs to the Echeveria genus, a group valued worldwide for their sculptural form and suitability for growers of any experience level.

The plant forms an upright, tight rosette of plump, spoon-shaped leaves coated in a powdery silvery blue farina that gives it a frost-kissed appearance. Its clustering growth habit means a single plant gradually becomes a multi-rosette display, spreading wider over time. This silvery blue farina coating is the plant's most distinctive feature.

It needs a drop in nighttime temperature to trigger blooming, so placing it near a cool window in autumn or moving it outdoors for the season can initiate flowering. This succulent is non-toxic to cats and dogs.

Rotate it regularly for even, symmetrical rosette growth, and keep it sheltered from rain since excess moisture on the farina-coated leaves causes spotting. You can leave it up to ten days without water. It works as a windowsill specimen, a patio container plant in summer, or a collector centerpiece.

  •   Echeveria Tolucensis grows well in bright indirect light but can scorch in intense south-facing windows without filtering.

Water it thoroughly every 10 to 14 days in summer, reducing to once a month in winter.

Echeveria tolucensis grows well in a fast-draining mix of cactus soil blended with perlite at roughly a 50/50 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 60 and 80°F and should be brought indoors before temperatures drop near freezing.

Echeveria tolucensis is a slow to moderate grower needing only a light balanced fertilizer once in spring and once in early summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 through 11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F but preferring frost-free conditions. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. Gardeners along the Oregon coast and in sheltered parts of New Mexico and Arkansas can also grow it outside with minimal winter protection.
  • Q: How often should I water Echeveria Tolucensis?
A: Every 10 to 14 days during the growing season, letting the soil dry completely between waterings. In winter, reduce to once a month or water only when the leaves show slight wrinkling.

Q: Is it safe around pets?
A: Echeveria Tolucensis is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Q: How big does Echeveria tolucensis get?
A: Each rosette reaches 3 to 5 inches across. The overall clump spreads wider as it clusters over time.

Q: How do I propagate it?
A: Echeveria tolucensis is easily propagated from offsets that form at the base of the mother rosette. Gently remove a cluster, let the cut callous for a day or two, then pot it in dry cactus mix.

Q: Why is my Echeveria tolucensis not blooming?
A: It needs a drop in nighttime temperatures to initiate blooms. Try moving it near a cool window in autumn or placing it outdoors in late summer.

    Q: Is it rare?
A: Echeveria tolucensis is less commonly found than many other echeveria species, making it a sought-after addition for collectors and succulent enthusiasts.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
