Philodendron 'Sun Red' (Philodendron hybrid) is a tropical foliage plant from the Araceae family, bred for its dramatic color-shifting leaves. It originates from the humid rainforests of South America, where dappled canopy light and warm, moist air define its natural growing conditions.

The leaves emerge in coppery-red tones before maturing to deep, glossy green, creating a color-changing houseplant effect that continues throughout the plant's life. They are broad and heart-shaped with a smooth, slightly leathery texture. Philodendron Sun Red grows as a self-heading, upright clumping philodendron that builds a full form without needing a support structure or pole.

Philodendron Sun Red produces few to no flowers indoors. What it does offer year-round is the living spectacle of leaves shifting color as they age, with new foliage emerging in coppery-red before transitioning to deep green over several weeks.

You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
