  •   Sedum confusum (Plug) is a spreading succulent from Mexico, where it grows wild in rocky, sun-exposed terrain with very little water. Part of the Crassulaceae family, it spreads across ground and containers with minimal fuss.

The plant forms tight rosettes of plump, spoon-shaped leaves in bright apple-green, deepening to golden-yellow at the tips when exposed to full sun. It clusters and spreads readily, with each plug multiplying into a dense mat that fills pots, rockeries, and garden beds quickly. The leaves stay glossy and firm year-round.

Small, star-shaped yellow flowers appear in clusters during late winter and early spring. The blooms attract pollinators and do produce pollen and allergens, so note this if you have sensitivities. It handles drafty indoor spots, dry heated air, and balcony wind and rain without struggle.

Move it outside in summer and leave it there well into autumn. You can leave it up to ten days without water. Sedum Confusum is completely safe around cats and dogs.

  •   Sedum confusum (Plug) grows well in partial sun to full sun, needing at least four to six hours of direct sunlight daily.

Water it every 10-14 days during warm months and cut back to roughly once a month in winter, always letting soil dry completely between waterings.

Sedum Confusum grows best in gritty, free-draining soil such as cactus and succulent mix blended with perlite at a 2:1 ratio.

It handles temperatures from around 25°F up to 90°F, showing solid frost tolerance when sheltered.

Sedum Confusum is a moderate to fast spreading ground cover that benefits from a light balanced fertilizer applied once in spring and once in early summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11 and tolerates brief dips to around 25°F before needing frost protection. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Texas, Arizona, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Nevada, and along the Oregon and Washington coasts. In Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and parts of New Mexico, it grows outside with light seasonal shelter during cold snaps.
  • Q: How often should I water Sedum confusum (Plug)?
A: Every 10-14 days in warm months and roughly once a month in winter. The soil must dry completely between waterings to prevent root rot.

Q: Is it safe around pets?
A: Sedum confusum (Plug) is non-toxic to cats and dogs.

Q: How much light does Sedum Confusum need?
A: Four to six hours of direct light daily supports strong growth. Indoors, a sunny south or west-facing windowsill works well; outdoors, full sun deepens the yellow tips on the leaves.

Q: Can it survive outdoors year-round?
A: Sedum Confusum grows outdoors year-round in USDA zones 9-11. In colder zones, move it indoors before the first hard freeze or provide shelter during frost.

Q: How fast does Sedum Confusum spread?
A: It clusters and spreads at a moderate to fast rate, filling containers and garden beds with dense rosette mats within a single growing season.

Q: How do I propagate it?
A: Sedum Confusum propagates easily from stem cuttings or by separating the naturally clustering offsets at the base. Let cuttings dry for a day or two, then place them in well-draining soil; roots establish within a few weeks.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
