  •   Sedum adolphii 'Lime Gold' is a golden trailing succulent native to Mexico, where it grows on rocky, sun-drenched slopes with excellent drainage. A member of the Crassulaceae family, it is popular among both beginner and experienced collectors for its color and straightforward care requirements.

The leaves are plump, banana-shaped, and arranged in rosettes that form tight clusters as the plant matures. Color ranges from soft chartreuse to golden-orange depending on light exposure and season, intensifying in brightness with stronger sun. The trailing, clustering growth habit spreads generously over time, trailing over pot edges with dense foliage coverage.

Small, star-shaped white flowers appear on upright stems from late winter into early spring. The year-round foliage color shift moves from pale yellow in lower light to deep gold in full sun.

Move it outside in summer to intensify that golden tone, but keep it covered during heavy rain to prevent root issues. It works well in hanging baskets, window boxes, mixed succulent containers, or on sunny indoor shelves. You can leave it up to ten days without water. It is also non-toxic to cats and dogs, and propagates easily from stem or leaf cuttings left to callous for a day or two before placing on dry succulent soil.

  •   Sedum adolphii 'Lime Gold' grows well in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full sun, with the deepest gold color developing in the strongest light.

Water it deeply every 10–14 days during the growing season, then reduce to once a month in winter, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings.

Sedum 'Lime Gold' grows well in a well-draining cactus and succulent mix, amended with perlite or coarse grit at a 2:1 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 65–80°F and should be brought indoors before temperatures drop below 40°F.

Sedum 'Lime Gold' is a moderate grower that benefits from a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength once in spring and once in early summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9–11, tolerating brief frost dips to around 25°F with protection. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Texas, Arizona, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. It also performs in sheltered spots along the Oregon coast, southern Nevada, the warmer pockets of New Mexico, and coastal North Carolina.
  • Q: How often should I water Sedum adolphii 'Lime Gold'?
A: Every 10–14 days during the growing season, letting the soil dry completely between waterings. In winter, reduce watering to once a month or less, since growth slows significantly.

Q: Is this succulent safe for pets?
A: Sedum adolphii 'Lime Gold' is non-toxic and completely safe for cats and dogs.

Q: What window direction works best for Sedum 'Lime Gold'?
A: South or west-facing windows provide the strongest light and the deepest gold color. East or north windows work if they receive several hours of bright indirect light, though the foliage may stay more yellow-green.

Q: How fast does it grow?
A: Sedum 'Lime Gold' is a moderate grower that gradually expands and clusters over time, eventually filling a container or trailing generously from a hanging planter.

Q: Can Sedum 'Lime Gold' be propagated?
A: Yes, it propagates easily from stem or leaf cuttings. Let cuttings callous for one or two days, place them on dry succulent soil, and new roots typically develop within two to three weeks.

Q: What happens if I leave it dry for an extended trip?
A: Sedum 'Lime Gold' can go up to ten days without water. For longer absences, move it to a spot with less light to slow water loss, or ask someone to water once during your trip.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
