    •   Graptoveria 'Fantome' is a hybrid succulent in the Crassulaceae family, created by crossing Graptopetalum and Echeveria. It originated through ornamental hybridization and produces compact rosettes that stay relatively small, sitting well in pots, windowsills, and outdoor container arrangements.

        The leaves of 'Fantome' are fleshy and spoon-shaped, arranged in tight, symmetrical rosettes. They carry a silvery blue-green base with a frosted, powdery coating that gives the surface a matte appearance. In strong light, the leaf tips and edges develop a soft pink to lavender blush.

        'Fantome' may produce slender flower stalks in spring or early summer, with small star-shaped blooms in yellow or orange tones typical of Graptoveria hybrids. A drop in nighttime temperatures can encourage blooming. It is pet friendly.

        Move it outside for summer in a sheltered spot, and keep it covered or under an overhang since rain can damage the powdery leaf coating. Keep it away from air conditioning vents and heating units, as direct airflow from either can stress the leaves. You can leave it up to ten days without water, and it wilts slightly when dry. Rotate the pot regularly so all sides of the rosette receive even light. This silvery rosette succulent is a rare find among graptoveria collectors and hybrid enthusiasts.

        Water it every ten to fourteen days in spring and summer, reducing to once a month in winter.

        'Fantome' does best in a well-draining cactus and succulent mix combined with added perlite or coarse grit.

        It prefers temperatures between 60°F and 80°F and should be brought indoors before temperatures drop below 40°F.

        'Fantome' is a slow to moderate grower; feed it with a diluted succulent fertilizer once in spring and once in midsummer.

        It is hardy in USDA zones 9b through 11, tolerating light frost down to around 25°F for brief periods. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, and Hawaii. It can stay outside through autumn in zone 9b areas, but should be brought indoors once temperatures approach freezing.

      A: An east- or west-facing window works well. South-facing windows can scorch the leaves, so either pull it back a foot or two from the glass or use a sheer curtain to filter the strongest midday light.

      A: Graptoveria 'Fantome' wilts slightly and the leaves lose a little firmness when it needs water. Check that the top inch or two of soil is completely dry before watering again.
