As 'Diamond' ages, it becomes fuller and more impressive, eventually reaching about 40 cm in both height and width. The plant maintains its neat form well and works as a focal point in containers or rock gardens. Leaf edges deepen with increased light exposure, shifting from lime-green with subtle red edges in low light to red-edged rosettes in direct sun. The plant needs rotating regularly for even growth on all sides. It is sensitive to cold air from AC units or heaters, so keep it away from direct airflow.
Semponium 'Diamond', also called Houseleek, is a hybrid succulent that forms neat, symmetrical rosettes in bright lime-green with bold red edges. The leaves intensify to deeper red tones in full sun, creating strong color contrast. This compact succulent grows steadily, developing multiple rosettes on branching stems as it matures.
Move it outside for summer if you live in a warm climate. Stem cuttings root easily once the plant is mature. It needs cover from rain when outdoors. Keep 'Diamond' on a high shelf if children or curious pets are nearby.
Semponium 'Diamond' grows in filtered or partial sun and full sun, with red edges becoming more prominent in direct light.
