    •   Huernia procumbens is a succulent plant that grows in full sun or dappled shade. It belongs to the Asclepiadaceae family and is native to South Africa.

The stems of Huernia procumbens are succulent and subterete, well adapted to dry winters and sparse rainfall during summer. They turn brownish during dry conditions, and their shallow-rooted nature allows them to take advantage of the dry soil.

Huernia procumbens produces pale creamy lobed flowers that are pollinated by insects. The flowers are followed by fusiform paired follicles that open when ripe, releasing flattened seeds with their own parachute.

Huernia procumbens can be grown in containers and is best suited for bushveld gardens grown in rockeries. It makes an interesting pot plant and can be kept in a partially sunny, exposed position such as a balcony or windowsill. The soil should be sandy and well-drained, and the plant should be watered sparingly in spring and summer, keeping it dry during the winter months.

    •   Huernia procumbens grows well in bright indirect light or partial shade.

Water it every 10-14 days during the growing season, letting the soil dry completely, and once a month in winter.

Huernia procumbens does best in a sandy mix with excellent drainage, such as a succulent plant mix of 50 percent pumice or perlite, 25 percent peat or organic mulch, and 25 percent sand.

It prefers temperatures between 50°F and 80°F, protecting it from freezing weather.

Huernia procumbens is a slow-growing plant that can be propagated through stem cuttings or seeds. It grows well in shallow containers that allow the soil to dry out quickly.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9b to 11b, from 25°F to 50°F. It grows outdoors in Florida, California, Texas, and other states within these zones.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
