    •   Adromischus marianae f. herrei is a rare succulent shrub, native to the desert and semi-desert regions of South Africa and Namibia. It often grows in the cracks of granite hills and rocky, arid terrain. This plant is a small, slow-growing succulent that is highly sought after by collectors.

It features thick, fleshy leaves with a wrinkled, irregular, and warty surface. The leaves can range in color from green to reddish-brown or purple, and they may become grey and waxy as they age. The leaves are often compared to small, sculpted pebbles or dried prunes, forming tight clusters that are nearly stemless.

This plant produces slender inflorescences with small, tubular flowers that are green with a pinkish-red tinge. Flowering is infrequent on young plants, but when it occurs, the plant has reached a significant age. Adromischus marianae f. herrei tolerates dry heated air and handles drafty spots.

Adromischus marianae f. herrei is available as a mature specimen or a starter plant, and it needs rotating for even growth. You can move it outside for summer, and it can stay outdoors in autumn. It needs cover from rain when kept outdoors. Keep it on a high shelf out of reach as it is dangerous if ingested by pets and is a hazard for toddlers. This plant produces pollen, which can be an allergen for some individuals.

    •   Adromischus marianae f. herrei grows well in direct sun but scorches in south windows, preferring morning sun or bright indirect light.

Water it every 2-3 weeks during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. You can leave it up to ten days without water.

Adromischus marianae f. herrei does best in a well-draining substrate for succulents, with 50-70% mineral grit like pumice or perlite.

It prefers temperatures above 75°F but can withstand temperatures as low as 41°F.

Adromischus marianae f. herrei is a slow grower that takes years to reach maturity, with minimal change in size from season to season. Fertilize once a year during the growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 10a to 11b, tolerating temperatures down to 30°F. It grows outdoors in southern Florida, Hawaii, and parts of California, Arizona, and Texas.

Q: How can I propagate Adromischus marianae f. herrei?

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
