    •   Sempervivum Colorockz 'Ruby Lime' is a cold hardy succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the rocky mountains of Europe and Asia Minor. These rosette-forming plants evolved in harsh alpine terrain where poor soil and extreme conditions are constant, making it exceptionally resilient for outdoor gardens.

        'Ruby Lime' forms tight, symmetrical rosettes with contrast between lime green centers and ruby red leaf edges that deepen in strong sunlight. The fleshy, pointed leaves spread outward in a distinctive pattern, and it naturally produces offsets, or "chicks," around the mother rosette to create a wide-spreading mat over time. Each rosette stays compact and orderly, making it a colorful rosette succulent for rock gardens, containers, and balcony planters.

        Like all Sempervivums, mature rosettes occasionally send up a flowering stalk after which that rosette completes its life cycle while the surrounding offsets continue growing. The clustering habit means the plant always stays full, even as individual rosettes bloom and make way for new growth. 'Ruby Lime' maintains its best color during hot summers and handles balcony wind without trouble.

        Move it outside in summer and it stays outdoors well into autumn, then survives hard freezes that would finish off most succulents. You can leave it up to ten days without water. It also tolerates dry heated indoor air and drafty spots near windows or doors. It is pet safe, so no high-shelf placement is needed for cats or dogs.
