  •   Echeveria 'Fiesta' is a compact rosette succulent in the family Crassulaceae, bred from Echeveria hybrids developed through ornamental cultivation. It originates from a lineage rooted in the semi-arid highlands of Mexico, where its parent species adapted to bright sun, rocky soils, and seasonal dry periods.

'Fiesta' forms a tight, symmetrical rosette of thick, spoon-shaped leaves that layer outward in a neat spiral. The leaves are green at the base and deepen toward red and pink edges, especially when exposed to direct sun. Each leaf has a slightly waxy surface with a powdery coating called farina that gives it a soft, matte appearance.

It produces slender arching stems in spring or early summer, tipped with small bell-shaped flowers in coral to orange-yellow tones. A notable drop in nighttime temperature can encourage it to set buds. Beyond flowering season, 'Fiesta' is also pet-friendly, making it safe to place anywhere in a home shared with cats or dogs.

Move it outside in summer to a spot with good air circulation, but cover it or bring it in when rain is expected, as sitting water in the rosette can cause rot. 'Fiesta' handles the dry heated air of indoor environments and tolerates going up to ten days without water. Rotate the pot every week or two so each side receives even light and the rosette holds its circular form. It is a collector find that also works well for anyone growing their first succulent.

  •   Echeveria 'Fiesta' grows best in bright light with at least a few hours of direct sun daily. It can adapt to lower light but may stretch and lose its compact form. South or east-facing windowsills work well, though intense midday sun through glass can scorch the leaves.

Water it every ten to fourteen days during the growing season, letting the soil dry out completely between waterings. Cut back to once a month in winter.

'Fiesta' does best in a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix, ideally amended with extra perlite or coarse grit to prevent moisture from sitting around the roots.

It prefers temperatures between 60°F and 80°F indoors and should be kept above 40°F at all times. A cooler nighttime temperature, around 50°F to 55°F, can help trigger blooming in spring.

'Fiesta' is a slow to moderate grower that stays compact, typically reaching 3 to 5 inches across at maturity. Feed it once in early spring and once in midsummer with a diluted balanced fertilizer at half strength.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9b through 11, tolerating minimum temperatures down to around 25°F to 30°F. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, and parts of Louisiana, Georgia, and South Carolina. In cooler zones, it can spend the summer outside and move indoors before the first frost.
  • Q: How much light does Echeveria 'Fiesta' need indoors?
A: An east or south-facing window is ideal. Keep it within a foot or two of the glass. If it starts stretching toward the light or the rosette loosens up, it needs more sun.

Q: How do I know when to water this succulent?
A: Echeveria 'Fiesta' wilts slightly and the leaves feel softer when it is ready for water. Check that the soil is completely dry an inch or two down before watering again.

Q: Can 'Fiesta' grow under office LED lights?
A: It can survive under office LEDs, but growth will be slower and the red and pink leaf edges will likely fade without a source of natural or full-spectrum light.

Q: Is this plant safe for cats and dogs?
A: 'Fiesta' is non-toxic and pet-friendly, so it is safe to keep in a home with cats and dogs.

Q: Can 'Fiesta' survive while I am traveling?
A: Water it thoroughly right before you leave and it can go up to ten days without any attention.

Q: How do I encourage this succulent to bloom?
A: 'Fiesta' tends to bloom more readily when it experiences cooler nights, around 50°F to 55°F, in late winter or early spring. Moving it near a window where nighttime temperatures dip naturally can help it set buds.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
