Rosemary is native to the Mediterranean Basin, particularly the dry, rocky hills and coastal areas of Southern Europe, North Africa, and Western Asia. This ancient herb has been valued for thousands of years for its culinary, medicinal, and symbolic properties, spreading globally from its origins.
Rosemary typically ranges from 1 to 3 feet (30 to 90 cm) tall, depending on the specific shape and maturity.
Rosemary is a slow to moderate grower, which makes it ideal for topiary. Its slower growth habit means it retains its sculpted shape for longer periods, requiring less frequent pruning than faster-growing plants.

Rosemary needs full sun to grow best and develop its strong fragrance. Make sure it gets at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight every day.
Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out somewhat between waterings. Water more frequently during hot, dry periods.
Rosemary truly thrives in well-draining soil. A sandy or loamy mix is perfect, and good drainage is a must to keep root rot at bay. It also prefers a slightly alkaline pH, ideally between 6.0 and 8.0.
Ideal temperatures range from 68°F to 86°F (20°C to 30°C).
Rosemary is considered non-toxic to humans, dogs, and cats.
