    •   Saxifraga Tricolor, also called Strawberry Begonia, is a creeping saxifrage native to East Asia. It produces runners with small, colorful foliage and adapts well to indoor spaces, from offices to terrariums.

The leaves are forest green with white and vivid pink variegation, creating a layered color pattern across the trailing stems. It grows low to the ground with a spreading, trailing habit, reaching mature size in a basket or terrarium. The foliage is small and rounded, densely packed along thin runners that naturally cascade downward.

'Tricolor' produces small white flowers in spring and early summer, though the variegated foliage is the primary ornamental feature. The plant naturally humidifies the air around it.

Use 'Tricolor' in a hanging basket, on a high shelf, or as a floor plant where the trailing stems can spread freely. It tolerates dry heated air and can stay outdoors in autumn before bringing indoors for winter. You can leave it up to ten days without water. It wilts slightly when the soil is dry. This plant is pet-friendly.

    •   Saxifraga Tricolor grows well in bright indirect light and under office LEDs; it scorches in south-facing windows.

Water it when the top inch of soil feels dry; frequency depends on humidity and temperature in your home.

'Tricolor' does best in well-draining soil mixed with perlite or orchid bark to prevent root rot.

It prefers temperatures between 60°F and 75°F and handles typical indoor conditions without difficulty.

'Tricolor' is a moderate grower; feed it monthly during spring and summer with diluted liquid fertilizer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 10 and 11, surviving outdoors year-round in southern Florida, Hawaii, southern California, and southern Texas where winter temperatures stay above 50°F.

    • Q: How often should I water Saxifraga Tricolor?
A: The soil should dry between waterings. Stick your finger an inch into the soil; if any moisture remains, wait another day or two before checking again.

Q: Can it survive without water for a week or two?
A: Saxifraga Tricolor can tolerate extended dry periods. It will wilt slightly when the soil is dry, but recovers quickly once watered.

Q: Does 'Tricolor' need special humidity?
A: No. It tolerates average household humidity and dry heated air indoors.

Q: What light does it need?
A: 'Tricolor' grows well in bright indirect light; keep it a few feet from a west or east-facing window, or under office lighting for consistent growth.

Q: Is Strawberry Begonia safe for pets?
A: Yes. It is non-toxic to cats and dogs and safe for pet-friendly homes.

Q: How do I propagate Strawberry Begonia?
A: Remove a runner with a few leaves and roots attached, or place a runner in water until roots form; transfer to soil once established.

    🌿 For Houseplants
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging as soon as possible and review the care instructions included with your order. Water based on your plant’s needs, making sure not to overwater.
Houseplants may need a short adjustment period after arrival. Give your plant time to acclimate to its new space before placing it with other plants. You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
*** We pack carefully to protect each plant during transit, so larger orders may arrive in multiple packages.
