  •   Peperomia 'Rana Verde', also called the green frog plant, is a compact semi-succulent in the Piperaceae family, native to tropical regions of Central and South America. It belongs to the broad Peperomia albovittata group and grows naturally on the forest floor under filtered canopy light.

The leaves are round to slightly heart-shaped with deep, corrugated ridges running across their surface, giving the plant its ripple texture. Deep green covers the top of each leaf, while the undersides carry a lighter, silvery-green tone. Growth stays compact, with leaves arranged in a dense, low rosette that rarely spreads beyond a few inches across.

Ripple Peperomia occasionally produces thin, upright flower spikes typical of the genus, small and unscented, though the plant is grown almost entirely for its foliage rather than its blooms. It is pet friendly, so cats and dogs can be around it without concern. It also filters formaldehyde and other indoor toxins from the air.

Rotate it every week or two so all sides receive even light and the rosette stays balanced. Ripple Peperomia fits well inside terrariums and thrives near kitchen moisture, where ambient humidity stays higher without any misting. Keep it away from AC vents and heater outlets, since blasts of dry or cold air from either can stress the leaves. It holds up in office settings under standard LED lighting and can survive up to ten days without water during a trip.

  •   Peperomia 'Rana Verde' grows well under bright indirect light or office LED lighting. Keep it away from south-facing windows, where direct sun scorches the leaves.

It needs water every ten to fourteen days, allowing the soil to dry out between sessions. It wilts slightly when dry.

Ripple Peperomia does best in a well-draining mix of potting soil and perlite. A cactus blend with added perlite also works well.

It prefers temperatures between 65°F and 80°F indoors. Keep it away from cold drafts, AC vents, and heater vents, which can cause leaf stress.

Ripple Peperomia grows at a slow to moderate pace and stays compact. Feed it with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength once a month during spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 10 to 12, tolerating outdoor conditions where temperatures stay above 50°F. It grows outdoors year-round in Florida, Hawaii, southern California, southern Texas, Louisiana, and Arizona. In cooler states, it performs best as a container plant kept indoors through winter.
  • Q: Is Peperomia 'Rana Verde' safe for cats and dogs?
A: Yes, it is non-toxic to both cats and dogs and is considered pet friendly.

Q: How do I know when to water this plant?
A: Peperomia 'Rana Verde' wilts slightly when it needs water. Check the soil first and water only once the top inch or two feels dry.

Q: What happens if Ripple Peperomia gets too much water?
A: Overwatering is the most common issue. The roots rot quickly in soggy soil, and the lower leaves turn mushy and yellow.

Q: Can I grow this plant in a terrarium?
A: Ripple Peperomia does well in open terrariums where airflow prevents excess moisture buildup around the roots.

Q: Can Ripple Peperomia handle office lighting?
A: It grows under standard LED office lighting without issue. Just rotate the pot periodically so growth stays even on all sides.

Q: Can I move this plant outside in summer?
A: Ripple Peperomia can go outside in summer in a shaded or filtered-light spot. Bring it back indoors before nighttime temperatures drop below 55°F, and keep it covered or sheltered from rain.

    🌿 For Houseplants
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging as soon as possible and review the care instructions included with your order. Water based on your plant’s needs, making sure not to overwater.
Houseplants may need a short adjustment period after arrival. Give your plant time to acclimate to its new space before placing it with other plants. You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
