Peperomia 'Metallica', also called red tree peperomia, is a compact tropical houseplant in the Piperaceae family native to the rainforest floors of Peru and South America. It grows as a low-growing, semi-succulent perennial that stores moisture in its thick stems and leaves.

The leaves are small, oval-shaped, and deep burgundy-red on the undersides, with a dark green upper surface overlaid by a narrow silver-gray stripe running down the center. The surface has a faintly waxy, almost metallic sheen that gives the plant its name. New growth emerges in a reddish tone, and the stems stay compact and upright, rarely exceeding eight to twelve inches in height.
