    •   Gerbera Daisy, also called Gerbera Daisy, is a flowering herbaceous plant native to South Africa and Madagascar. It belongs to the Asteraceae family and produces large, cheerful blooms and grows easily from cultivation.

The plant produces long, lance-shaped leaves in forest green that form a dense basal rosette. Foliage emerges upright from the crown, and it remains compact when grown indoors in proper light. The leaves have a slightly textured surface and can reach 4 to 6 inches in length, creating a full, attractive mound even before flowering begins.

Gerbera jamesonii produces large daisy-like flowers in vivid colors including red, pink, yellow, orange, and white, often with contrasting central discs. Blooms appear in spring and summer under good light conditions, with individual flowers lasting two to three weeks. The plant flowers continuously when deadheaded regularly, producing new buds throughout the growing season. Flowers are pollen-producing and can trigger allergies in sensitive individuals.

Move it outside in summer once nighttime temperatures stay above 50°F; Gerbera jamesonii handles outdoor conditions well and often blooms more prolifically in natural light. It is pet-friendly and non-toxic to cats and dogs. Rotate the plant every one to two weeks for even growth on all sides, as it will lean toward its light source. Keep it away from direct vents from air conditioning or heating systems, which can cause stress.

    •   Gerbera Daisy grows well in direct sun for at least six hours daily but can scorch in intense south-facing windows during peak summer; rotate every one to two weeks for even growth.

Water it when the top inch of soil feels dry; check every 7 to 10 days during the growing season and extend intervals in winter as growth slows.

Gerbera jamesonii does best in well-draining potting mix amended with perlite or coarse sand to prevent root rot and standing moisture.

It prefers temperatures between 60°F and 75°F and is sensitive to sudden temperature swings or cold drafts from air conditioning and heating vents.

Gerbera jamesonii is a moderate grower producing new flowers throughout the growing season with regular deadheading and requires specialist flowering fertilizer applied every two weeks during spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 to 11 and tolerates frost down to 25°F, growing outdoors year-round in southern California, Texas, Florida, and Hawaii without winter protection.

    • Q: How often should I water Gerbera Daisy?
A: Stick your finger an inch into the soil; if the top inch feels dry, water thoroughly. In winter, extend the interval as growth slows.

Q: Can I keep this plant indoors year-round?
A: Yes. Gerbera Daisy needs bright, direct light for at least six hours daily and will flower continuously with proper care and regular deadheading.

Q: Does Gerbera jamesonii need special fertilizer?
A: Yes. Use a specialist flowering fertilizer formulated for blooming plants, applied every two weeks during the growing season from spring through summer.

Q: Is this plant safe for my pets?
A: Yes. Gerbera jamesonii is non-toxic to cats and dogs and poses no danger if ingested.

Q: Why are the leaves of Gerbera Daisy turning yellow?
A: Yellow leaves often result from overwatering or poor drainage causing root stress; let the soil dry between waterings and ensure the pot has drainage holes.

Q: Can I move Gerbera Daisy outside in summer?
A: Yes. Move it outdoors once nighttime temperatures stay above 50°F, and bring it back inside when temperatures drop in fall; outdoor light typically encourages more prolific blooming.

    🌿 For Houseplants
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging as soon as possible and review the care instructions included with your order. Water based on your plant’s needs, making sure not to overwater.
Houseplants may need a short adjustment period after arrival. Give your plant time to acclimate to its new space before placing it with other plants. You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
