The plant has forest green, waxy leaves that are heart-shaped and grow on upright stems. Anthurium andraeanum reaches a moderate size indoors, with foliage that remains compact when given proper care. The leaves are naturally soft and slightly textured, emerging in clusters from the base.
It produces distinctive spadix flowers with a prominent, finger-like center spike surrounded by a flat, glossy spathe that resembles a flamingo's wing. Blooms appear year-round in red, pink, and purple, with individual flowers lasting several weeks. The plant naturally humidifies the air around it and purifies indoor air.
Move Anthurium andraeanum outside for the summer months in warm climates, though it requires cover from rain. The sap causes skin and paw irritation, so keep it on a high shelf out of reach of children and pets. It is sensitive to being moved and prefers a stable location once established. The plant wilts slightly when the soil is dry.

When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging as soon as possible and review the care instructions included with your order. Water based on your plant’s needs, making sure not to overwater.
Houseplants may need a short adjustment period after arrival. Give your plant time to acclimate to its new space before placing it with other plants. You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
