    •   Sempervivum 'Maya' is a cold hardy succulent from the houseleek family, native to the mountainous regions of Europe. This alpine succulent has adapted to harsh conditions and grows well as a rosette plant for both indoor and outdoor growing.

        'Maya' forms tight, symmetrical rosettes with fleshy, pointed leaves that shift color throughout the seasons. The leaves are green at the center and fade to burgundy or reddish tips, with the color deepening in cooler weather. Each rosette grows 2-3 inches across and produces smaller offsets around the mother plant, eventually clustering into attractive colonies over time.

        It produces tall flower stalks with star-shaped blooms in pink or red during the summer months. The rosette that flowers completes its lifecycle after blooming, but the abundant offsets ensure the plant continues to grow and spread. The flowers produce pollen that may trigger minor reactions in sensitive individuals.

        Move it outside in summer and it handles balcony wind and rain with ease. It tolerates dry heated air indoors and can go up to ten days without water. It survives cold winters down to -20°F and is safe around cats and dogs.
