    •   Sempervivum heuffelii 'Xanthoheuff' is a rare cold-hardy succulent from the Crassulaceae family, native to the mountainous regions of central and southeastern Europe. It evolved in rocky, exposed terrain where cold winters and dry summers shaped its exceptional toughness.

        'Xanthoheuff' forms tight, structured rosettes in warm yellow-green tones that shift and intensify with light and seasonal temperature changes. The fleshy, pointed leaves layer neatly with geometric symmetry, and the clustering growth habit means one plant gradually spreads into a dense colony. Its compact, upright rosette form and glowing golden-green palette distinguish it among other hens and chicks varieties.

        It produces star-shaped flowers on upright bloom stalks in summer, with pale yellow to creamy tones that complement its yellow-green rosettes. Like all Sempervivum, individual rosettes are monocarpic, meaning the blooming rosette completes its life cycle after flowering, but surrounding offsets carry the colony forward without interruption. This natural cycle keeps 'Xanthoheuff' continuously regenerating and spreading across its space.

        'Xanthoheuff' grows in rock gardens, alpine troughs, container arrangements, and balcony displays, handling wind, rain, and dry spells with ease. Move it outside in summer or position it on a balcony or patio year-round. It is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs, survives up to ten days without water, and handles drafty spots and dry indoor air. It is hardy across USDA zones 4-9 and can stay outdoors through autumn and winter in most climates without protection.
