  •   Haworthia Ed Storms is a rare haworthia cultivar native to the arid regions of South Africa. It belongs to the Asphodelaceae family and brings geometric form to homes and offices where most other low-light succulents would struggle.

It forms tight, clumping rosettes of plump dark green leaves marked with translucent windows and intricate white tubercle patterns that catch light in geometric ways. The leaves are small and densely packed, creating a dense rosette form roughly 2 inches tall. Over time, it produces offsets that cluster together, gradually building into a miniature colony.

It occasionally produces slender, tubular white flowers on tall wiry stalks during warmer months, though blooming indoors is infrequent. A slight drop in nighttime temperature can encourage flower spikes. The blossoms are modest and unscented.

It grows well in low, medium, or bright indirect light and survives in office corners and under desk LEDs where most succulents fail. You can leave it up to ten days without water. It is pet-friendly and releases oxygen at night, fitting well on bedside tables or office desks. The cultivar status and rare availability make it sought after by collectors.

  •   Haworthia Ed Storms grows well in low to bright indirect light but scorches quickly in direct south-facing sun.

Water it every 2–3 weeks during summer and reduce to once monthly or less in winter, letting soil dry completely between waterings.

Haworthia Ed Storms prefers a fast-draining cactus soil mixed with perlite or coarse grit at roughly 50/50.

It prefers temperatures between 65–85°F and must be protected from frost below 40°F.

Haworthia Ed Storms is a slow to moderate grower requiring fertilizer only once or twice yearly at half strength in spring.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9–11 and cannot tolerate frost below roughly 25–30°F, so move it indoors when temperatures drop. It grows outdoors in Florida, California, Texas, Arizona, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Nevada. It can also grow in sheltered microclimates along the Oregon coast and in parts of New Mexico, Arkansas, and North Carolina where zone 9 pockets exist.
  • Q: How much light does Haworthia Ed Storms need?
A: It does well in low to bright indirect light and even grows under office LEDs. Direct south-window sun causes leaf scorch.

Q: Is it safe around cats and dogs?
A: Haworthia Ed Storms is non-toxic and pet-friendly. The sap may occasionally cause mild skin or paw irritation if handled roughly.

Q: How often should Haworthia Ed Storms be watered?
A: Check soil moisture before watering; if the top inch feels dry, water thoroughly. In winter, water only occasionally since the soil dries more slowly.

Q: Why is it hard to find?
A: It is a rare cultivar not commonly stocked in garden centers. The windowed leaves and unique white tubercle markings attract dedicated collectors.

Q: Can Haworthia Ed Storms go outside in summer?
A: Move it to a shaded or dappled-light spot outdoors for a summer break. Cover it from heavy rain and bring it back inside before fall temperatures drop.

Q: How do you propagate it?
A: Haworthia Ed Storms readily produces offsets as it clumps over time. Gently separate the pups and pot them individually in fast-draining soil.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
