  •   Aloe Blizzard is a rare, collector-grade succulent in the Aloe genus, also called the "snowflake" aloe for its white variegation. Native to the arid regions of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, it inherits drought tolerance and a sculptural growth habit from its desert heritage. It arrives ready to grow, whether in a 2" starter pot or a larger 4" specimen.

It forms an upright rosette of thick, fleshy leaves in deep forest green, dramatically splashed and spotted with white variegation that looks almost hand-painted. Each leaf is edged with fine teeth. The high-contrast patterning is unique to each plant, with no two specimens marking quite the same.

Aloe Blizzard's foliage remains visually compelling year-round, even outside of bloom season. The dense, layered rosette deepens and expands with age, becoming increasingly dimensional on a bright shelf or windowsill.

It grows slowly, so patience pays off as a mature specimen becomes denser and more dramatic over years. You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outside in summer to a bright, sheltered spot, keeping it covered from heavy rain and bringing it back inside before temperatures drop. It's hardy in most of the warmest US zones and grows well as a collector plant for anyone seeking a low-water, bedroom-ready succulent with architectural form.

  •   Aloe Blizzard grows well in bright indirect light and can scorch easily in hot south-facing or west-facing direct sun.

Water it deeply every 2-3 weeks in spring and summer, letting the soil dry out completely between waterings, then reduce to once a month in winter.

Aloe Blizzard does best in a gritty, fast-draining cactus and perlite mix that stays dry and never soggy.

It prefers temperatures between 60-80°F and should be brought indoors before frost threatens in fall.

Aloe Blizzard is a slow grower requiring only a light, balanced feed once or twice during the active growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating brief dips to around 25-30°F before needing frost protection. It grows outdoors year-round in Southern California, coastal and central California, Arizona, Nevada's warmer valleys, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Hawaii. It also survives mild winters in portions of Oregon's coast, far southern Utah, and the warmest pockets of New Mexico with minimal shelter.
  • Q: How often should I water Aloe Blizzard?
A: Every 2-3 weeks in spring and summer with the soil drying completely between waterings. Cut back to once a month when temperatures drop in winter.

Q: Is it safe around cats and dogs?
A: Aloe Blizzard should be placed on a high shelf well out of reach for both pets and small children, as the leaves shouldn't be nibbled or eaten.

Q: What window direction works best for Aloe Blizzard?
A: East or north-facing windows with bright, indirect light are safest. South and west windows can scorch the white variegation even through glass.

Q: How fast does it grow?
A: Aloe Blizzard is a slow grower, so expect a mature, denser specimen over several years rather than rapid size changes season to season.

Q: Can Aloe Blizzard be propagated?
A: Separate the offsets or "pups" that emerge at the base of a mature plant, let them callous for a day or two, then pot into dry, gritty cactus mix.

Q: Can it survive outdoors year-round?
A: Aloe Blizzard is hardy in zones 9-11 and survives outdoors in Florida, California, Texas, Arizona, and Hawaii, but needs to come indoors in colder regions before frost arrives.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
