The plant is recognizable by its large, flat, rounded leaves stacked in an upright rosette that resembles a stack of flapjacks. Leaves are forest green with vivid red-tipped edges that intensify in bright light and cooler temperatures. As a clustering, wide-spreading grower, it builds into an impressive display over time. 
Given the right conditions, it produces tall flower stalks topped with clusters of small, tubular yellow blooms that appear in late winter to early spring. A nighttime temperature drop in autumn is the key trigger for blooming. The flowers are lightly fragrant. 
Kalanchoe luciae is a slow grower that does well with minimal fuss. Its bold form works well in modern interiors and can be moved outside for summer to soak up bright, sheltered conditions. Keep it protected from heavy rain outdoors, as excess moisture causes rot. The sap can irritate skin and paws, so place it on a high shelf away from cats, dogs, and small children.

Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
