  •   Kalanchoe millotii is a succulent from the Crassulaceae family, native to Madagascar where it grows in warm, seasonally dry habitats. It has a compact, sculptural presence and straightforward growing requirements indoors.

It forms an upright, clustering habit with small rounded leaves densely covered in fine silvery-white hairs that give the plant a soft, fuzzy appearance. The velvety texture catches light, and as new offsets cluster around the base, the plant gradually fills out into a fuller specimen.

Small blooms typically emerge in cooler months, and a nighttime temperature drop can encourage more flowering. The felted foliage remains the standout feature year-round, turning heads even without blooms present.

It tolerates dry heated indoor air well, making it suitable for heated apartments in winter. Move it outside in summer to a sheltered spot with bright indirect light, but bring it back inside before nighttime temperatures dip in autumn and ensure it has cover from heavy rain. Keep it on a high shelf out of reach of cats, dogs, and small children, as it is toxic if ingested.

  •   Kalanchoe millotii grows well in bright indirect light and scorches easily in direct south-facing windows.

Water it every 10-14 days, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings.

Kalanchoe millotii does best in a well-draining cactus mix blended with extra perlite to prevent root rot.

It prefers temperatures between 65–80°F and should never be exposed to frost or freezing conditions.

Kalanchoe millotii is a slow to moderate grower that needs only minimal fertilizer, once or twice during the active growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 10–12. It grows outdoors year-round in Hawaii, South Florida, and the warmest parts of Southern California, Arizona, and Texas. Portions of Louisiana, coastal Georgia, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, and Nevada's warmer valleys can also support it during milder years, though frost protection is always recommended in those regions.
  • Q: How often should I water Kalanchoe millotii?
A: Every 10–14 days, letting the soil dry out fully between waterings. Soft or wilted leaves indicate the soil has dried too long.

Q: Is it safe for pets?
A: Kalanchoe millotii is toxic if nibbled or ingested. Keep this succulent on a high shelf out of reach of cats and dogs.

Q: How much light does Kalanchoe millotii need?
A: Rotate it regularly in bright indirect light for even growth. Avoid placing it in a south-facing window where direct sun can scorch its fuzzy leaves.

Q: Can I leave it unwatered while traveling?
A: Kalanchoe millotii can survive up to ten days without water. Give it a thorough soak before you leave and place it in a stable bright spot away from AC or heater vents.

Q: Can Kalanchoe millotii spend summer outdoors?
A: It loves spending summer in a warm, sheltered spot with bright indirect light. Bring it back inside before autumn nights cool down and protect it from heavy rain.

Q: How do I propagate it?
A: Kalanchoe millotii naturally produces offsets as it clusters, which can be gently separated and potted up in a well-draining cactus mix. Leaf or stem cuttings also root readily when allowed to callous for a day or two before planting.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
