  • Sempervivum calcareum, also known as Houseleek.

It is a succulent perennial plant that can reach 6 inches (15 cm) tall.

Its rosettes are beautifully symmetrical with a dome shape. The leaves are blue-green and have pointy burgundy tips.

Sempervivum calcareum forms dense mats by multiplying via short-stalked offsets.

In summer, some mature rosettes produce clusters of starry, yellow-eyed, light pink flowers on thick stalks.

The rosettes that flower will naturally die afterwards, but by this time, the plant has likely produced many offsets that will continue to grow.

All of the plants will be shipped bare root.
  •  Gritty soil, Sandy.

     Full Sun or Partial shade.

Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch, then let drain completely. Reduce watering to a minimum during winter.

Temperature: Prefers warm summer temperatures (65ºF/18ºC – 70ºF/21ºC).

In winter, it can tolerate temperatures down to freezing.
  • Zone 7b: 5 to 10 °F

Absolutely love it

Absolutely love this succulent. It was too big to fit in the pot I got with it but I found something else and I love it.

Beautiful plant

Bought this for my son for Christmas, and he was thrilled with it. Arrived in good condition, and would definitely buy from this company again.

Sempervivum Calcareum

My experience was great. Being a new succulent owner, I've learned to not go cheap and buy the larger sizes as I think for beginners, (or at least me) I will have an easier time keeping them alive after transplanting. My plan is to give them as Christmas gifts so I bought the subscription plant box as well. Thanks so much for the great planting directions and for sending them with such care!

Great selection of succulents, thank you.

Would be nice if the shipment card came with the species names so I could be sure of where to plant them - full sun or part sun.
