Each variety in this snake plant duo offers its own leaf pattern, from broad, sword-shaped blades with yellow-edged margins to narrower, cylindrical forms with dark green banding. The leaves grow stiffly upright, reaching anywhere from one to four feet tall depending on the variety, with a waxy surface that holds moisture. Cross-banded markings in grey-green and deep green are common across the pack, and some varieties carry a golden yellow border along each leaf edge.
Mature plants occasionally send up a tall flower spike with small, tubular, cream or pale green blooms that open at night and carry a faint sweet fragrance. Flowering is infrequent and not guaranteed every year. Beyond that, Snake Plant filters indoor air by absorbing formaldehyde and other airborne toxins, and it releases oxygen at night rather than during the day.

You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
