  •   6 inch Hoya Pubicalyx Pink Silver is a fast-growing tropical vine native to the Philippines. It belongs to the Apocynaceae family and climbs through warm, humid forest environments where it naturally trails and vines through the canopy.

Its signature feature is deep green, lance-shaped leaves splashed with silvery-pink flecks. Each leaf has a waxy, semi-succulent texture and emerges on long, arching vines that trail from a hanging basket. The silvery variegation distinguishes this climbing vining houseplant.

It produces clusters of small, star-shaped blooms in deep reddish-purple to nearly black tones with pink or magenta centers. The flowers carry a sweet fragrance and appear most reliably when nighttime temperatures drop 10 to 15 degrees below daytime highs. With proper conditions, this fragrant flowering vine blooms multiple times per year.

Move it near a kitchen window where ambient moisture keeps humidity levels up, and rotate the pot every few weeks so every stem receives even light and grows symmetrically. You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outside in summer to a sheltered spot where it appreciates warmer temperatures and natural humidity. It will show slightly wilted or softened leaves when thirsty.

  •   6 inch Hoya Pubicalyx Pink Silver grows well in bright indirect light near an east- or west-facing window without harsh direct rays.

Water it every 7 to 14 days during spring and summer, then reduce to every 3 to 4 weeks in winter, allowing the soil to dry between waterings.

Hoya Pubicalyx does best in a chunky, well-draining mix of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark in roughly equal parts.

It prefers temperatures between 60 and 85°F and should stay away from AC vents, heater drafts, and any exposure below 50°F.

Hoya Pubicalyx is a fast-growing vine that benefits from balanced liquid fertilizer applied monthly during the active growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 10 to 12 and dies back or dies entirely if exposed to frost. It grows outdoors year-round in Hawaii, southern Florida, and coastal southern California, coastal and southern Texas, southern Arizona, and Louisiana. It grows outdoors seasonally in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and coastal areas of Oregon and Washington if brought indoors before autumn temperatures drop.
  • Q: How often should I water 6 inch Hoya Pubicalyx Pink Silver?
A: Every 7 to 14 days during spring and summer. Cut back to every 3 to 4 weeks in winter. Slightly wilted or softened leaves indicate thirst.

Q: Is it safe around cats and dogs?
A: 6 inch Hoya Pubicalyx Pink Silver is non-toxic to cats and dogs. The sticky sap can cause mild skin or paw irritation, so wipe up any drips.

Q: How fast does Hoya Pubicalyx grow?
A: It puts out several inches of new vine per month during warm seasons with bright indirect light and regular feeding. Growth slows noticeably in low light or cool temperatures.

Q: What window direction works best for blooming?
A: Hoya Pubicalyx blooms most reliably when it sits near an east- or west-facing window and experiences a drop in nighttime temperatures of 10 to 15 degrees. Slightly drier conditions in late autumn also help trigger bud set.

Q: Can Hoya Pubicalyx grow under office artificial light?
A: It grows reasonably well under bright LED office lighting placed close enough to mimic indirect natural light. Growth and flowering will be slower than near a window, but foliage stays healthy with consistent artificial light exposure.

Q: How do I propagate this plant?
A: The easiest method is to root stem cuttings with at least one node in water or moist sphagnum moss in a warm, humid spot. Hoya Pubicalyx roots reliably within two to four weeks under bright indirect light.

    🌿 For Houseplants
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging as soon as possible and review the care instructions included with your order. Water based on your plant’s needs, making sure not to overwater.
Houseplants may need a short adjustment period after arrival. Give your plant time to acclimate to its new space before placing it with other plants. You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
*** We pack carefully to protect each plant during transit, so larger orders may arrive in multiple packages.
