This cactus grows well in the warm, humid conditions that mimic its forest-canopy origins, making it accessible to beginners in homes and offices.

        The plant has deeply notched, flat stems that zigzag in a bold fishbone pattern. The stems are green and fleshy, growing quite long and arching outward and downward in a trailing habit that looks striking in a hanging basket or displayed on a high shelf.
