Peperomia Golden Gate, or Peperomia Obtusifoliaone or Baby Rubber plant, is a wonderful houseplant for beginners, as it is resilient and very easy to care for. Golden Gate is a bushy plant with thick red stems and waxy leaves in emerald green and golden yellow.
Native to Florida, Mexico, and the Caribbean, this is a slow-growing plant and can reach up to 12 inches. Despite its small size, Peperomia Golden Gate scores a spot on the top list of air-purifying houseplants, as it is very effective in cleaning indoor air.
Its compact, upright-spreading nature and low light demand make it perfect for indoor and shady spots. Peperomia obtusifolia is a perfect adornment for any decor style.
Golden Gate blooms spikes of white flowers during the growing season (Spring/Summer).

Peperomias prefer moderate light conditions, can grow in shady places, and do well under fluorescent lights. Avoid scorching direct sunlight.
This plant is mildly drought-tolerant and needs watering once a week in the summer. Water less in the winter (once every 10-14 days). Do not water the foliage.
This plant loves well-drained, porous potting soil that can retain some moisture.
Ideal temperature: 60 to 75 °F( 16 to 24 °C). Save the plant from cold winds, drifts, and temperatures below 50 °F(10 °C). Peperomia enjoys raised humidity levels but most of the time it does just fine in normal household conditions.
Fertilize once a month with diluted general houseplant fertilizer in spring and summer.
